Francis and I were very happy together. I can feel him not being here and I know it's not right.

— Computer Program

Stephanie Miller was the wife of Francis and the author of a letter collected by the Federal Bureau of Control.

Biography

Stephanie wrote a letter to the House of Representatives, trying to bargain to have her husband Francis brought back to life after his death from a car accident several months ago.

Before he died, Francis read an article and started believing that the universe was a computer program. Stephanie initially did not believe him, but after his death, she started to believe it as well. She explained that when Jeremy, a neighboring child, broke one of their windows with a football, Francis had yelled at him harshly. Francis was killed by a drunk driver a week later. Knowing Jeremy was a "computer whiz," Stephanie came to believe that Jeremy had altered the code of the universe to have Francis killed.

This spurred Stephanie to write to the government, pleading for them to change the "computer" back so that Francis would be alive again. She even offered money and stated that she did not care if Jeremy was punished or not.[1] Her letter was eventually collected by the FBC and catalogued in its Dead Letters Archive.
