Francis was the husband of Stephanie Miller who died after being struck by a drunk driver.
Biography
Shortly before his death, Francis read an article and began believing that the universe was a computer program. His wife initially did not agree with his theory. However, after his death, Stephanie started to believe it as well, thinking it was the reason for his death.
According to Stephanie, Francis died because he yelled at Jeremy, a neighboring child, for accidentally breaking one of their house windows with a football. Stephanie believed that Jeremy, a "computer whiz," had altered the code of the universe to make the drunk driver hit Francis. She ended up writing a letter to the House of Representatives, pleading for them to "change the computer" and bring Francis back to life.[1]
