The Teapot is an Altered Item that the Federal Bureau of Control obtained in Albuquerque on June 18, 1991, and now being used by Firebreak as part of the Altered Materials Utility Initiative.
Summary
Description
A china teapot with decorative markings, complete with lid.
Item is able to change the chemical composition of any liquid (see experiments AI44 D-1 through D-19 for details) into a highly flammable gelatinous substance when heated to 212 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.
Background
Item was discovered after the local fire department failed to put out a blaze at a nursing home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The fire rapidly spread, resulting in near total loss of life. Firefighters found the item untouched among the wreckage and brought it to their station as a luck totem. A new recruit later used the item to make tea. The resulting fire killed four individuals. Agents were notified and promptly secured the item.
